Pink Saturday

How sweet it is to be joining Beverly on Pink Saturday. Please drop by and say hello to her and the other pink ladies at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog.

This is a very large Afghan I saw in one of the antique malls. The big pink roses caught my eye.

Also, take a minute to drop in on Ann at "Up North:A Lofty Ambition". She has a very nice blog and one that is very informative. She is well-versed on a lot of subjects and shares them in her writings. She can be reached at http://annjav.blogspot.com.

What a gorgeous afghan. Perfect for grandparents and grandchildren to snuggle under while reading a good book on a chilly winter day. As much as I prefer warmer weather than snow, snow sounds pretty good on this 100+ day! Autumn - fall - here we come! :) :) :) Have a lovely weekend, LV :)

So pretty- my grandma used to crochet these, and she did bathroom sets with the rose pattern. It so reminds me of her. I never did learn the pattern. I love the colors in this one. My grandma was a red lady and did hers in red. She could knit or crochet anything- and she made sweaters, mittens- you name it, she did it.
She crocheted me a little red vest and skirt one year for christmas, trimmed in white that I just loved!
Happy PS!

LV,
This is such a pretty afghan. Many years ago, I used to crochet and one of my co workers made these afghans. She was supposed to show me how but never got to. I do have the pattern for it and hopefully someday, I will get to make one.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Just beautiful---and think of all the WORK!

There's a pillow to match---maybe a four-square-front one---upstairs somewhere, but I don't think Mother made the entire afghan.

Always lovely to have you drop in!

Thank you for visiting, LaVoice...
Your afghan is lovely-what a treasure find.

Yes, I know...here in SE Texas we've had drought and 104 temps all summer, but for me, having grown up in the northeast, September begins Autumn. In my mind the cool breezes are already on their way. And the last few morning were actually much cooler than it has been.

Have a glorious weekend,
Marianne

Hi LV,

I LOVE, LOVE this afghan! I've never seen one with roses like this; would love to have it. My mom crocheted a pretty afghan for me years ago which I have displayed in our living room. She also did one for our son when he was a baby. I'll always treasure these because she made them. Thanks for sharing and Happy Pink Saturday.
