Outdoor Wednesday

Take time out from your busy holiday activity and join me for Outdoor Wednesday. You will find many interesting outdoor sights at Susan, A Southern Daydreamer's place.

Throughout most of the year, this is a lonely, little tree on top of hill, along a busy freeway, with downtown in the background. Several years ago, a sweet little lady decorated it to honor the homeless. She had at one time been homeless herself. Year after year, she came at Christmas and decorated the tree. One Christmas she never came. People wondered about her. The newspaper said she had become to weak to climb the hill to reach the tree.

From that day forward, people come for every holiday and decorate the little tree for her. This is the tree as it has been decorated today honoring the homeless in a Christmas spirit.

Due to so much publicity and concern for this lady, one of local writers, Leslie M. Gordon, has put together this book honoring her and the tree. I have an autographed copy of the book, and love the way she tells the story and illustrates it.

Every now and then you hear a story that just tugs at your heart strings....and your just did. That sad little lonely tree sure comes to life when all the trim is added and it knows it's standing for something good.
Thanks for showing us.

You've just shown that there are many good people in this country, even if we hear mostly about the bad.
