Vintage Thingies Thursday

It is that wonderful day of the week again. Coloradolady really puts on a show with her Vintage Thingies Thursday. No where else will you find so many interesting vintage things in one place.

These are six demi cups. They are white with gold trim around the saucer's edge, on the cup handle and rim of the cup. They are 2-1/2" tall. I got these from the estate of my in-laws several years ago.

I tried to get the bottom of the cups but my little digital and I did not do too well. It says "Imperial Ironstone China, N.K. Porcelain Co., Made in Japan".

These are vintage/depression, footed, dessert dishes. They are a very pretty shade of green. I am not sure which family I got these from.

A vintage thought: 1932-1934 A gallon of gasoline was .18 cents.

LV,

I love all the cups and dishes you have showcased in your photos! The shade of green is interesting and I am already thinking of things you could put in them for St. Patrick's Day!

The vintage thought is something to cause you to pause and reflect.

Could those green dishes be vaseline glass? You could check them under a black light and see if they glow.

Those footed green glasses are the CUTEST things. I have one footed dessert glass, it is sort of a mother-of-pearl over amber in color, and one of the cats eats his kibbles out of it!!! He loves his little dish and can't really bend his head very easily to get to a saucer so the dessert cup was perfect!

The green glasses are pretty. My mom had a set of "good" dishes that were white with gold trim. I heated up some gravy in the gravy boat in the microwave once. I don't know what the gold trim was made of but the sparks were incredible.

Love those beautiful green lovelies. My daughter says chocolate mouse served in these would taste 10 times better at least...And chocoalte is pretty good in any old bowl.....I think that means she thinks they are gorgeous!

Happy VTT LV,
I have green glass dishes which are almost identical to yours! I bought them from a British gal on ebay about 3 years ago.
Amazing.

Good morning Meme, I tried to visit from my blog but you didn't leave a link. I knew I could find you on Beverly's Pink Sat. list, so that's what I did. I am adding you to my side bar so next time I know exactly where you are.

Your post today is so sweet with your vintage treasures. I love both entries. Your photos are very good and it is very hard to capture the description signs when the item is white. I go out side on my deck so the flash won't go off.

Have a wonderful day.

Hugs...Jeanne

I love those dishes, and the white ones..I think that is the same mark or very similar to the ironstone platter Jeff gave me for my Birthday.... now, when you get tired of them...you know where they will have great home!!!

I NEED some little bowls like those green ones...and let me stress NEED here!!!
