BLUE MONDAY: Bluebonnets

This is a very special Blue Monday. Smiling Sally and I invite you to join us for a stroll down bluebonnet lane. There is always something exciting to view on Blue Mondays.

I had the privilege of knowing a lovely, talented lady. She was an artist. Her work was on display at several art galleries. These are the bluebonnet paintings she did for me. She did these back in the 70's and 80's time frame.

This is a one of a kind piece of work. This was the only churn she ever painted.

This is a interesting house in Texas Hill Country. It had a lot of junk around it. Bluebonnets replaced the junk.

She did not paint this vase with bluebonnets. A dear friend knew my love of bluebonnets and did this for me several years ago.

The only blue in this painting is the sky. The same lady did this. It, too, is one of a kind. It took her more than a year to finish this. All she had was small snapshots I had taken and my memory input. This is one of my most prized possessions as it is of my grandparents old home place. Nothing left of it now.

Hello Lavoice...

I just wanted to stop by and say thank you for joining in with Sunday Favorites on June 20th! I'm sorry that I'm so late at getting over to your place...I just made it back from our two week vacation to Texas this past Saturday...now I'm playing "catch up"! I feel like I missed so much in Blogland in the two weeks that I was gone...everything moves very quickly here!

Well my friend, I really enjoyed your bluebonnet paintings and the painting of your grandparents homestead! The artists are so very talented...these paintings are lovely!!! Thank you so much for sharing them with all of us! I lived in south Texas for 30 yrs. and the bluebonnets covered the roadsides and pastures in the Spring...it was fabulous!

I read down through several of your posts...you have a lovely blog! I'm going to add you to my list of blog follows and look forward to getting to know you better! So very nice to meet you and thank you again for joining in with Sunday Favorites!

Warmest wishes,
Chari
