Outdoor Wednesday

Wonderful being outdoors today with Susan at http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com

Could label these flower beds, the beauty and
the beast.  This is my cactus bed and they did have pretty blooms for the first time this year.  What they do have all the time, is very sharp needles that really hurt when you get one.  However, they will probably all be gone this time next year. City putting in sidewalks.

LV, your flowers are so pretty and I like the way cactus look. That's too bad the sidewalk will go in next year.

Are you glad to be rid of the cactus. It is pretty the way you have them planted but I know what you mean about the thorns. I've spent much time picking them out of myself and out of John especially when he was burning the stickers off the prickly pear for the cattle to eat. Hard to avoid them when working and also the Rattlesnakes like to make their home down in the ground under them.

So what are your thoughts on a sidewalk? We have no sidewalks either. And no plans to put one in. This means when people walk their dogs, they poop in the yards. Is this a new profile picture? It is very pretty!

Sidewalks can be a mixed blessing! For that matter, so can prickly pretty cactus! It's a shame to lose them though; your other flower bed is beatiful.

A road near the inlaws house got sidewalks and man it took forever for them to put them up

Your new profile pic is so nice. A shame to lose the flowers but I am appreciating solid walking surfaces more and more every year.

Beautiful flowers. Don't often see cactus as decorative.

Lovely roses you got there, let's wait for the cactus flowers.

Your flowers are lovely. Why not move the cactus plants to another location and put a little decorative rock fence around them? They really are lovely. You have a great day, hugs, Edna B.
