Blue Monday

Smiling Sally
We are going to our botanic gardens for Blue Monday. They recently had a butterfly exhibit. They decorated the grounds in these beautiful floral butterflies.  It truly was an awesome sight.  Sally has many more pretty blues for your viewing pleasure at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com

Pink Saturday

It is a perfect day to visit Beverly and check out her Pink Saturday.  Some of the best pinks can be found at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog

This was in an office building display window.  It did not turn out too well looking through the glass window.

Some of the beauties from around our neighborhood.

Gone To The Dogs-Tuesday With MeMe

My family has always been dog and cat people. I used to have one, but no more.  The loss is just too much grief. The dogs we had were never bought except one.  My late husband paid $5 for one at a flea market  It was just a plain dog, but one of the best. Each of the following belong to different family members.

French Bulldog is a small breed of domestic dogs.  "Frenchies" were bred in the 1800s by lace makers first in England then in France.  They are playful and affectionate.

Beagles

Beagles are a breed of small to medium sized dogs.  They are a member of the hound group.  It is similar in appearance to the fox hound, but smaller with shorter legs and long soft ears. They have a great sense of smell and tracking instincts. Beagles are intelligent and popular pets because of their size, even temper and lack of inherited health problems.

Dachshunds

These dogs are sort legged, long bodied breed belonging to the hound family. They have long drooping ears and come from a German origin. The Dachshund continues to remain one of the top ten dog breeds in the U.S.

Nice being back with Sally and her Blue Monday friends. She is the best  hostess.  She always finds time to visit and leave a comment.  Go to http://smilingsally.blogspot.com and check out all the various blues.

Pets come in all shapes and sizes.  Most of them enjoy something blue to rest on.

Glad this fellow took his stand when the sky was bright and blue.

Dogwood Pink Saturday

Pink Saturday with Beverly is the perfect place to see very pretty Easter pinks.  Check them out at
http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog

Dogwood Legend
There is a legend that at the time of the Crucifixion the dogwood had been the size of oak and other forest trees. So firm and strong was the tree that it was chosen as the timber for the cross.  To be used for such a cruel purpose greatly distressed the tree, and Jesus nailed upon it, senses this, and in His gentle pity for the sorrow and suffering, He said to it:

"Because of your regret and pity for My suffering, never again shall the dogwood tree grow large enough to be used as a cross. Henceforth, it shall be slender, bent, twisted, and its blossoms shall be in the form of  cross - two long and short petals. And, in the center of the outer edge of each petal there will be nail prints. brown with rust, stained with red and in the center of the flower will be a crown of thorns and all who see it will remember."

Happy Easter

Vintage Thingie Thursday

Should you be interested in vintage thingies, then you need to drop in on Coloradolady. She has some of the best at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com

Believe it or not, these are lawn mowers. Vintage, three wheeler. This place chose to display them hanging from the ceiling. To me, gives the appearance of a mower merry-go-round.

April, 2009 was when I first started my blog.  Today marks my 1300 post since that time.  Never dreamed I would ever survive to achieve such an accomplishment.  Thanks so much to all my faithful friends and supporters. You helped make this possible.
