Vintage Childen's Books # 4

Click the image and you will be at home with http://coloradolady.blogspot.com.

I have enough vintage children's books far  this post and  maybe one more.   The owner graciously allowed me to share them with you.  When I am through featuring these books, they will be returned to the rightful owner. Sit back and enjoy turning the pages of time with Coloradolady  and her Vintage Thingies.

Speaking of children: A pastor was invited over for dinner and asked to lead in prayer for the meal. After a brief prayer, Little Fred said approvingly, "You don't pray so long when you're hungry, do you?"

REDnesday

Cherry World 1

After the holiday, Sue is having us all over for REDnesday.  In Texas, it is red hot.  Sue loves cherries, perhaps she will serve us a cool, cherry soda. Or, she might serve us a cold slice of a real watermelon.

I thought this was such an adorable little watermelon teapot.  The first I had seen.  I did not buy it.

One of my pretty red blooms,

Tuesday With MeMe

You know you are living in 2012 when......

1.  You accidentally enter your PIN on the microwave.

2. You have not played solitaire with real cards  in years.

3.  You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family.

4.  You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.

5.  Your  reason far staying in touch with friends and family is that they do oit have e-mail addresses.

6.  You pull up in your own driveway  and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.

7  Leaving the house without your cell phone which you did not have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and  get it.

8.  You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee.

10.You are reading this and nodding and laughing.

11.Even  worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.

12.You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!

Blue Monday

Let us not forget today is the day to remember those that have served us well and fallen.

I am featuring my great-grandson, Layton, on Blue Monday today.  It and the color blue are his favorites. Smiling Sally is a good sport and lets me show off my favorite things occasionally.

He truly enjoys all sports, especially baseball. If I might brag a bit, he is very good.
Unfortunately, he was ready to catch a ball, it hit the ground and bounced up and hit him in the face. He has had a black eye for several days.  Thank goodness, no permanent damage.  All his class mates thought it was cool him having a shiner. I certainty did not feel that way.

Wonder who this old lady is?

Vintage Thingies Thursday

Vintage Thingies Thursday brought to us by Coloradolady is a wonderful place to browse.  Just like walking the flea markets, thrift stores, estate sales, etc.  Just sit back and enjoy the sharing of vintage goodies.

One day when I was making the antique malls, I saw this strange looking item.  At first, not sure what it was. Upon on further checking, it was a  refrigerator. It was a GE top, monitor  refrigerator introduced in 1927.  It was one of the most recognized vintage refrigerators. Believe it or not this was before my time. Time really does change our lives and lifestyles.

Tuesday With MeMe

A few lines to give you something to think about. Most of them is just the way it is.

A sharp tongue can cut your own throat.

If you want your dreams to come true, you must not oversleep.

The best vitamin for making friends....B1.

One thing you cannot recycle is wasted time.

It is never too late to become what you might have been.

Love the people who treat you right and forget the ones who don't.

If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.  If it changes your life, let it.

A birth certificate shows you were born, a death certificate shows you died - a photo album  shows you have lived.

Be sure you live each day to the fullest.  Make the most of it  as tomorrow may never come.

Vintage Children Books #3

Today on Coloradolady's Vintage Thingies Thursday another selection of vintage children's books. I have found in glancing through some of them, they are great little books.  Not so much like the newer ones.

This is a vintage  Wonder Book.  It is a story of a little puppy that would not mind his mother and all the things he go into. Note each book is from  the 1940's the frame.

This little Golden book is about an independent little kitten that wondered off from her family.  She finds a mole and they become  friends and this is their story.

REDnesday

It is time far REDnesday and spending another day with Sue loves Cherries. Sue and her friends really entertain us each Wednesday in a red style.

A few of my little red friends.  I have several of these.  I have always thought they were so cute.  Had to stop buying them.  However, they are not as popular as they used to be either.
