The skeleton's of Colorado.
My great grandson and I just "witching" around.
Watch out for the ghost that may be hiding in your closet.

Vintage Thinges Thursday=Goebels

A great way to spend your day is at Coloradolady's Vintage Thingies Thursday. Check all the great vintage things at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com.
I have an average collection of Hummel figurines. I had to stop buying them as they were getting expensive. The company sent me these calendars down through the years. I have a few very old figurines that I will share another time.

If you have not signed up to participate in this fun event, do so now. You only have a few more days left to join. You will enjoy it. I did.

Blue Monday Hugs

My Blue Monday today is more on a personal note than usual. Sometimes I have to show off some of my family. Smiling Sally, at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com, hope this meets your approval.

As most of you know by now, my great grandson's favorite blog day is Blue Monday. Layton and his daddy. The chain around his neck has a medal on it. He was awarded this medal for being most respectful to everyone in school.

Layton and his mother. (my granddaughter)
Now this takes you way back when I had the good fortune of getting a big hug from this hunk.
Everyone needs a hug each day. None are more precious than one from a child.

Pink Saturday

I look forward to Pink Saturday with Beverly. She is one of the most gracious hostesses. She always makes you feel welcome to her world of pink. Say hello at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog.

It seems the entire country went all out this year to help make Cancer Awareness better recognized. In this case, even the airlines set up their reservations in pink. Please note the dates on this schedule. I will have no posts during this time.

Pink Saturday

If you have not visited Pink Saturday, you are really missing out. Beverly has open house each Saturday for the showing of the pinks. You are invited to join her at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog.

Thank goodness wherever you go, this worthy cause is being featured.
Take time to smell the roses and give thanks if you are healthy.

My new found friend for this week is Kaitlin's blog "Not So Simple Housewife". She is the best at re-creating/purposing that I have seen. Trust me, you will be amazed at the things she has done. For example, this little jewelry box was made from two beat up fence post.
To see more of the great work she does go to http://notsosimplehousewife.blogspot.com.

One Shot Vintage Thingies Thursday

Coloradolady invites each of you to drop by for a great Vintage Thingies Thursday showing. Some of the best vintage things can be found at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com.

Everything in this photo is old. Only exception is my great grandson, Layton. He is just seven. Clicking on the pictures should make it larger to show better details.

l. The paneling on the walls was installed in 1964 when house was built.

2. Old dipper with just a touch of paint.

3. The telephone, made in the 1900s, is very vintage with all the original parts.

4. The hutch was bought in the early 70s.

5. Note the antique green glassware on the hutch.

6. Also, just a glimpse of yellow antique cup and saucer inside the hutch.

7. On top of the telephone, with flowers, is an old glass door knob.

8. Even that artificial greenery has been there since the 80s.

9. On top the hutch is an enamel chamber pot popcorn bowl. This was hand painted by Karen Daugherty, an artist, from Littleton, Colorado in the eighties.

10. The log cabin birdhouse has been with me a very long time as well. Just cannot remember the date.

11. Two little white dollies on the phone were made in the 60s.

Sew some pink around for October's Pink Awareness Month.
