Sky Watch Friday

End your week with a great Sky Watch show. The talented people at http://skyley.blogspot.com makes this possible each week. Thanks to all the crew.
This was made with a point and shoot camera. On the other side of the coin
my neighbor has one nice, fancy camera. This photo shows of his photography skills. What a big difference it makes when using different cameras.

I agree, the colours can change with the camera.

I don't think those photos were taken at the same time! Each is beautiful in its own way!!

A stunning study in contrasts!

BLESSED BE THE SKY

Cloudy, clear,
Bright or drear—
Blessed be the sky!

Sun and star,
Near or far—
Blessed be the sky!

Rain or snow,
Sunset glow—
Blessed be the sky!

Wind or calm,
Healing balm—
Blessed be the sky!

It can be frustrating when we don't have the equipment we would like. It was nice of your neighbor to share and nicer still that you shared with us. That is quite a sky shot.

he shot some fancy clouds too with his fancy camera. I rather want a simple camera. One that I know how to operate.

My present one has a video mode which my son uses, but he doesn't return it to camera still mode. So many times, I dont know how to return it, and once I was at the airport, called on my cell phone. I still could do it. I had to ask a perfect stranger.

That is quite a difference, although I’m not sure if these were taken of the same place at the same time. Perhaps the real scene is somewhere in the middle of these two contrasting shots. :)

Both photos have their own mood. Thats just how Art is, kind of like people. You are a SUNNY PERSON and always bring cheer to me when I visit your blog. :0) Joy

The second photo is indeed magic. I have a point and shoot camera as well but I think they can make real nice pictures too though.
Thanks for visiting

Yours just needs a tripod and photoshop. I'm sure that Scott used a photo program to clean up his photo. The colors are too perfect... lovely but almost not real.
You have taken some lovely photos of the sky. Don't be discouraged.

Point and shoot cameras need not produce blurry photos. Maybe it's time to try a little harder?

Well, that is one beautiful sky! Yes, it must have been a nice camera to get that shot...lovely!

Well, I always like your point and shoot shots too though! That's the only kind of camera I have as well.

The second one your neighbour took is absolutely stunning. I think maybe you had a bit of camera shake on your first photo, a tripod or monopod might help. Sometimes I have difficulty, especially if I am looking up at the sky, as I get vertigo.
