Vintage Thingies Thursday

This has been a great year for Vintage Thingies Thursday. Sadly, today will be the last visit with Coloradolady for 2009. No doubt 2010 will be even more exciting for us all. Looking forward to seeing you then.

This is a little Batman night light. I have had it a very long time.It burns all the time. It was made in 1966 by the General Electric DC Comics Inc. It is only 1/4 inch wide and shows a number on the back 924B. Some treasures you hang onto but know not why.
This is no way a vintage item. However, the owner of this quilt fits that category quite well. I had a wonderful, blessed Christmas However, this quilt is a most prized gift. When someone with a very busy life and schedule, takes time to hand make me something, IT IS SPECIAL.

I was told this was the backing of the quilt. To me, it is just as lovely as the front of the quilt. I will use it both ways. It is like I have two quilts in one. These pictures in no way show the real beauty and work of this quilt.
As you may have figured out, one of our blogging buddies just learned to make quilts this year. Now that she knows what she is doing, she has gone quilt wild. She made five for the holidays. I was one of the fortunate ones on her list.

She did not stop after the quilt. She took scraps from the quilt, cut them in very small stripes and made a guilt ornament. How clever is that!

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart Coloradolady.

Both sides of that quilt are lovely! I would call it a reversible one, double the fun, double the beauty and utility!

I like both sides. You can alternate sides with the season. The top picture looks like summer and the bottom like winter.

Beautiful quilt! It's even more special since it was hand crafted by a friend! I love all the quilts that my mom made for me and our kids. and a great idea for the ornament.

Wanted to let you know that I have another blog hug (aka an award) for you!

Happy New Year or in Hawaiian:
Hau'oli Makahiki Hou! (sounds like "How..oh-lee...Mah-kah...hee-kee...Ho!" ...your Hawaiian pronunciation lesson for the day :o)
